Honey Butter is an easy to make, super tasty and super tasty to eat and makes a great addition to your breakfast, brunch or anytime you want a quick snack.
You can make it in a mug or in a bowl and make sure you don’t over cook it.
Honey Butter Ingredients 1 teaspoon honey 1 teaspoon sugar 1/2 cup water (or water and water) 2 teaspoons instant coffee (or instant coffee powder) 1 cup flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 2 tablespoons butter, melted 3 tablespoons milk (or other milk substitute) Directions To Make the Honey Butter Mug: In a mug, whisk together honey, sugar, water and instant coffee in a medium saucepan over medium heat until sugar is dissolved.
Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.
In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, butter, milk and instant butter.
Mix until thoroughly combined.
Pour the batter into the mug and cover with plastic wrap.
Chill for at least 24 hours or up to two weeks to allow the batter to harden.
To Make Honey Bun: Heat a frying pan or a heavy saucepan with 1 tablespoon butter over medium-high heat.
Once hot, add flour and cook until butter is melted and mixture is smooth.
When the butter has melted, add the honey and stir until it is evenly coated with honey mixture.
Transfer to a piping bag and pipe a few tablespoons into the top of the bun, about 1/4 inch down the side.
If you’re using a muffin pan, place a piping tip in the bottom of the pan to help the batter come out clean.
To Serve: Pipe honey butter chips over the honey bun and serve immediately.
Recipe Notes This recipe makes 2 cups of honey butter.
For a thicker honey butter, measure 1/3 cup of honey into your mug and add to the mug.
This makes 2.5 cups of butter.
